What is the home organization process like?

The first step is to do your research, which you’re literally doing right now so - way to go you! Next up, if you’re working with us is to schedule a free 30 minute consultation to talk about the goals you have for your space. We want to be on the same page here, so we’ll look over the space(s) to be organized, ask questions about your style and budget, and give you a ballpark timeline for the project. Generally, we’ll need about a week between the initial consult and organization day to prep materials and make a plan. We don’t want to waste any time on site. On the big day, if at all possible, we’ll empty the space completely and sort through everything before putting what we’re going to keep back in it’s fancy new home.

How long will it take to organize my space?

I’m sure you realize, the spaces we organize are as diverse as our clientele and the time it takes will depend greatly on the amount of work there is to be done. After our initial consult, we’ll form a game plan and give you an estimate of both the time it will take and the price. While we do require a minimum of a 3 hour project commitment, sessions can typically take 4-8 hours depending on the size and needs of the space. Bigger jobs might have us there for several days depending on your schedule and what you need in the space.

Will you take pictures of my home?

Absolutely not! Discretion is the name of the game for us here at Find Your Floors. We even do all of our work using unmarked vehicles. Any before and after photos we post were given to us by friends and family of employees or by clients whom we have worked with pro-bono. We know that our clients value their privacy and that is very important to us.

How involved should I be in the process?

This is totally up to you! We only really need you to be there for the initial sorting/purging of items. We'll make this part as quick and painless as possible and after that you can stay and watch the magic happen or leave and wait for the surprise reveal!  It's entirely up to you.   
    

     
    
      

Do I need to clean up my space before you arrive?

Please don’t! This is a judgment-free process and we never want our clients to feel embarrassed about any space in their homes. We know that life happens and that’s why we are here to help in the first place!


However, we do have some prep work you can do to save some time (and money) before we get started if you’re interested. We can talk about this at the consultation.

Will I need to purchase organizational supplies?

We're flexible here.  Everyone has a different budget for their organization project and while an entirely new storage system would look really nice, we can most likely make something just as functional using mostly pieces you already have.  We'll do an inventory during the consult and see what, if anything needs to be purchased and/or assembled to be ready for organization day.  If you would prefer, we can purchase the needed supplies and provide you with an invoice when the project is finished.  
   
   

How much does home organization cost?

Since we charge by the work hour, the cost varies based on the length of the project. A small 3 hour pantry organization is going to be quite a bit less expensive than a full workover of an 1,800 square foot home. We’ll provide you with a general estimate of the time it should take after the initial consult.
